Help?[]
I'm sorry, I don't know where to report this. I AutoAdopted the Nyan Cat Wiki so I could try to manage the vandalism problem, but now that I'm active it's just got worse. Almost every day someone posts derogatory and inappropriate content on the wiki and I just feel so overwhelmed by it all. Link fixes needed on main page.[]
On the main page, the first sentence says "The utility wiki for the Volunteer Spam Task Force and users to report spam and vandalism." The links for spam and vandalism take you to Help pages, rather than the Report pages where both can be reported. —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 19:42, September 11, 2011 (UTC)

- Duplicate wikis are fine and allowed by Wikia. As for the 2nd one, if it's vandalism, it belongs on the vandalism report page, if it's just a wiki with a bad name, it's fine as long as it's not a vandalism/spam/troll wiki. ~ty 16:56, December 11, 2012 (UTC)
I recall seeing a 'for duplicate wikis see (link)' somewhere - and I was thinking more of the 'Satr Wars...' immediately followed by 'Star Wars...' type of duplication.
'Ordinary mis-spellings' irritate those of us whose work includes proofreading :)
Out of curiosity - how easy is it to get a mis-spelt heading corrected?
An example would be http://dictatorships.wikia.com/wiki/Dictatorships_and_There_Leaders_Wiki and http://dictators-page.wikia.com/
I have nothing against several wikis on a given topic (different viewpoints etc) - but there seem to be many 'duplicated and almost promptly abandoned wikis.' Jackiespeel (talk) 17:30, December 11, 2012 (UTC)

As I said - looking to be pointed in the right direction (if known). Would 'a couple of questions' during setting up a wiki - 'Are you setting this wiki up to promote your company/mainly talk about what you did last week' types filter out some of the nuisances? (A 'please retype your wiki name' would prevent the second aspect).

I presume 'XYZ College Wiki' and 'ABC's project' are OK with Wikia (or will be deleted due to inactivity in due course).

'Adopting VSTF Wiki' requests[]
There are occasional requests for the above.
There are also requests to join VSTF.

Suggestion[]
Add a statement to the effect that 'If a wiki is potentially salvageable alter what you can.' - with a note what to when there are some pages that need deleting (and the user does not wish to adopt the wiki). Examples would include [1] and Toronto Wiki respectively. (The former just needs the main page replacing with 'something from the Wikipedia page - I have left it for show). May I ask a question about home page? ―― Would you add Japanese i18n home page (SOAP Wiki/ja)? (Because we can get little information about VSTF in Japanese language.)

On the report spam list - what does 'mime' mean?

- Checked by me lol. Anyway, for your reports, you have to enter the wiki URL instead of the page you are on. For example, this page is http://vstf.wikia.com/wiki/Talk:VSTF_Wiki, you'll put "vstf" instead of "/Talk:VSTF_Wiki". Thanks! :) — Jr Mime (talk) [VSTF] 22:56, March 24, 2015 (UTC)

Whichever way I add the links seems to #not work# :) ('Category of person who wants to get back to exploring the wikiaverse for interesting wikis')
The 'Lifestyle' category (on new wikis) seems to be a common category for 'inappropriate wikis' (and would [2] be VSTF? (Perhaps there could be a 'bad taste, dubious, and not in the spirit of Wikia' category ... but I am not into 'Wiki-development and programming and developing it myself'). Some of these pages needs to be deleted, some of them seem like spam. Also, I heard some complaints about the Administrators on the IRC Chat really aren't helping much so you might need to fix that.

Adding formal notes to report pages[]

Report a wiki button broken[]
The report Wiki button is broken at the VSTF wiki. When you report a wiki and hit submit, the submitter is taken to [3] where it appears someone deleted the Action=purge template in January. It does appear to add the reported wiki however, but the error should still be fixed. Reguyla (talk) 20:47, May 5, 2016 (UTC)
