Reporting wikis

I checked most of the list from the 'list of wikis' (hence the comments on some of them) - so the non-connecting must arise during the copy and paste process. If you can tell me what caused the problem I can change the set-up in future.

Just trying to be helpful - most of us want Wikia to be reasonably uncluttered with inconveniences. Jackiespeel (talk) 11:43, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

I've told you several times already, you are adding things such as {{badname|Adollarone "Coupons"|spam }}, which is a broken template, and even if it were the proper "badwiki" template, it would produce:
  1. "Coupons"/close close me "Coupons" Adollarone "Coupons" Wiki reason: spam
In no way is that a functional link, so you obviously did not check it after putting it on the R:W report. That's what I've been talking about repeatedly – check your links after posting them. -- sulfur (talk) 11:47, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Will try again with a few at a time.

More that I want to get 'the brambles out of the way' when exploring the Wikiaverse (and creating lists etc) than trying to cause confusion.

What is the best way of reporting 'a number' of 'spams and other nusances' at once - and where there are multiple wikis with different URLs but the same name? (And is eg [1] an indication that the wiki in question is going to disappear anyway?)

My preferences are towards the theoretical 'group of general tidyer-uppers and providers of passing help and useful links and cross references' if such could be created. Jackiespeel (talk) 13:50, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

My point isn't that you only try a couple at a time, but that you put in the spam wikis properly. Once you've added things to the list, use the "preview" button, right-click on a few and open them in a new window. If they don't work, you've not added them properly.
If you find "nuisance" wikis, they are not the VSTF purview, unless they are spam or vandalism wikis. Those are for Special:Contact. -- sulfur (talk) 14:43, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

In this context 'nuisances' would include advertising and similar materials within VSTF's purview.

What is needed is a 'spam, inappropriate and clutter-up-Wikia' new-wiki-filter (so you at VSTF can get on with more interesting things) and if there were 'a sufficiency people with much patience and free time' - going through the older wikis (possibly by categories) and finding most of the obvious 'spam and similar' wikis that have slipped through the net' (as new wikis are many and VSTF are probably few, and no doubt busy with the newer entries). Then I will only come here with the occasional 'inappropriate wiki' that I have found while creating lists such as [2] and similar useful activities. :) Jackiespeel (talk) 17:17, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

The links on your wiki's front page don't work (for the immediate assistance). Zicoihno (Talk to Me) 18:34, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Sulfur, I am very interested in VSTF on Wikia. FuturamaYes VeggieTalesNo (talk) 15:54, June 15, 2015 (UTC)
